Tradition meets modern knife-making craft
As a smith in the sixth generation, I continue the family tradition of Schmiede Vollmer. In our workshop in Krebeck, I craft hand-forged Damascus knives, hunting, and kitchen knives – each piece a unique work. Although I am actually a computer scientist, I have devoted myself passionately to the smithing craft for over 10 years, working part-time on Fridays and Saturdays in our workshop. During this time I have already crafted several hundred knives.
Particularly important to me is the connection of traditional techniques with modern demands for functionality, ergonomics, and design. Many of my knives are created in direct exchange with the people who will use them later.

My main focus is on ourforging courseswhich make up about 90 percent of my activity in the forge. In these courses I pass on my knowledge and accompany you step by step on the way to your own knife. In recent years I have given several hundred courses and supported many people in forging their first own knife.
