General Information
The offering is a forging course at a price of 630€, after which you will have your own hand-forged knife within two days of work.
In the countless forging courses that have been conducted, no one has ever gone home without a knife! In the forging courses, we use first names.
What to Bring
Please wear clothing and shoes that can get holes. If you wear glasses, I strongly recommend a spare pair, as scratches can occur quickly. Otherwise I have everything. If you have good gloves, ear protection, or safety glasses, feel free to bring them.
Catering
As part of the course, we offer you lunch on both days. This is usually home-cooked food, bought regionally and prepared deliciously. If you have special dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian), please let us know – we will of course accommodate you. Water and coffee are provided.
Accommodation
We are often asked about accommodation options. Here is a selection of options that our customers have visited, located near the forge and sufficient for a simple overnight stay:

Prerequisites
You need no prior knowledge whatsoever to create your knife. Manual dexterity is certainly an advantage. From a 15-year-old to a 70-year-old woman, all age groups have successfully completed a knife course with us. If you seriously intend to forge your own knife, we will achieve it together!
When Does the Forging Course Start?
We start on Friday and Saturday at 09:00 AM each day. We usually need about 8 hours per day. By arrangement, we can also start later.
Glasses Wearers
If you have work glasses, it is a good idea to put them on. Flying sparks are unavoidable in the forge.
Hearing Protection
We offer simple hearing protection. Here is the link to the product.
Clothing
Please wear closed shoes. It is advisable to wear a sweater that can get burn holes, to protect the upper arms from the hot fire.
Vouchers
We offer vouchers. These can be sent by post or collected in person.
Photos
Photos can be taken at any time. Please let us know if you would like us to photograph you while forging.
Knife Sales
All knives visible on site can also be purchased.
The Difference Between a Forging Course and a Purchased Knife
Please note that this is a forging course. If you are looking for your perfect knife, you should discuss it with us according to your wishes and order it. In this craft, you must be prepared to make compromises due to the time constraints and course progression.
Additional Costs
- Half-integral knife: 75€
- Damascus end piece: 75€
- Rose damascus, pyramid damascus or ladder damascus: 100€
- If the wood costs more than 20€ at purchase, the difference must be paid.
Glossary
Guard / Ferrule
The guard is the part between the blade and handle, also often called a ferrule.
Half-Integral
In a half-integral knife, the guard is made from the same material as the blade.
